When James' beloved elementary school teacher is diagnosed with an
aggressive form of cancer, he tries to employ a risky robotic surgery to
save her, an approach with which Walter disagrees. Also, a military
veteran blinded in combat and riddled with guilt refuses Zoe and Talikha's high-tech treatment that could restore his vision.
This
was an okay episode there were some parts that I liked and some parts
that I didn't care for. I really didn't care for the fact of having this
really worried James who was really acting like he only cared about one
patient. It was really kind of annoying at points with how he would ask
for input by the doctors and then when they wouldn't give him the
answer that he wanted he would just start ignoring them. The actual
robot he built to do all the surgery to help fight against the cancer
was pretty cool but how I was thinking it would work is that it would be
doctors and robots working together to make all the surgeries more
efficient, which it eventually turned out that way, but that was not the
original plan for the device. I did like all the moments with Walter
trying to understand the future ways in which the hospital works while
also trying to stick to his original way in which he knows works best.
Those scenes were kind of sweet and really good for understanding Walter
a bit more. Then I liked the ending where he eventually does end up
finding a desk and a place to call his own. The Zoe working with the
blind veteran I actually liked that story line a bit more than the other
one. And when the truth is revealed as to why this man choices to live
in his blindness and pain, it is so sad with how much guilt this one guy
puts on himself. But the ending for him was so sweet and nice and I
loved it so much. And just overall this was a really entertaining
episode but it defiantly wasn't a favorite of mine.
