When a young boy's legs are crushed after being pinned by a car, Malik is determined to use a revolutionary procedure using spider silk to save his limbs, while Zoe lobbies in favor of the safer route of amputation. Also, James, Walter, and Talaikha care for Amelia, a young woman in dire need of a liver transplant, but they're puzzled by her resistance when they tell her the donor is her estranged father, Simon.
This was a really interesting episode that was definitely a lot better than the first episode. I really enjoyed the bit of development of the main group of doctors, and just really getting to know them more in this episode. The doctors having a bet up of when they think Dr. Wallace will quit I think is really funny and really great, and I really hope something comes out of that. Whether it be that someone put a bet in saying that he wouldn't quit or just something I really hope that it is not this one vain thing. Then the idea of using spider silk on the little boy's legs I think it was a very interesting idea because it is this really strong material but I feel it would dissolve in the human body faster than the boy's legs would heal. Then I really enjoyed the fact that James bought six plots of land to try and impress Zoe by building a bunch of parks for some kids who really need them. Amelia was a really interesting character and so was her father with just how different they were from each other. And I really enjoyed the ending of their story where the father decided to give part of his liver to make up for the terrible childhood he gave her by making sure she lived a long and happy life. All the parts with Walter and his son were very interesting to see that dynamic of the two of them being separated and that causing a lot of conflicts. Overall I really enjoyed this episode and I can't wait for more.
