The Gifted Season 1 Episode 1 "eXposed" Review

A suburban family is forced to go on the run when the children are discovered to possess mutant powers.

This was a very interesting and entertaining episode That I do have to be completely honest originally I was not going to watch this show at all it just didn't seem all that interesting and really seemed like a Heroes rip off. But I say all the images from the show and who was going to be members of the underground mutants and with two of the members being Blink and Polaris I thought I had to give this show a chance and I was really surprised because it is kind of good. There were definite moments where it felt like Heroes with the family being these kids with powers and their father works for a group trying to shut down people with powers and he has to choose between his family or his career. But it also was a little different with the father only being an attorney and not one of the heads running the whole operation. I did really like how the dad managed to get in contact with the underground mutant because he was working on building up a case against them and somehow he got contact information on them. Then the two kids with powers were very interesting with them having very similar powers but they kind of differed on the emotions used to bring up the powers. Like the boy's powers are based on anger and fear while the girls are a lot calmer and with that, the girl's powers are a lot more wind like while the boys are a lot more destructive, but maybe that could just be because he is in less control then she is. Then the mother of this family was really kind of annoying because she really seemed to not know what to think and she seemed really overemotional and all her moments just felt really unnecessary to everything that was going on. I really did enjoy that they did introduce the Sentinels Security because the Sentinels are such an iconic part of the x-men world that the minute they showed up and said there name I was so excited. And I'm very curious to see what they are going to do because the Sentinels are usually robots so having human agents instead is really interesting and maybe as the story progresses they introduce the robots into everything. Then the whole underground mutants group I really enjoyed with Blink being new to the group so she is still trying to figure out where she fits in. Then with Polaris, she was the one mutant who was captured and they have her held up in a Magneto-like prison and she is there showing off a bit. Then Thunderbird they did a fairly good job showing off some of what he can do with him using his senses to track people. Then the new mutant who was introduced especially for this show Eclipse is very interesting and I kind of want to know more about him and all of what his powers do because there was a scene in this episode where he gets shot and instead of bleeding blood he bleeds light So does he have like a sun inside of him or what is up there. Then the whole relationship between Polaris and Eclipse I'm okay with because as far as I can remember Polaris never really had a serious relationship with anyone so to bring in someone new is kind of fun because it is a whole new story that they can play with. And just overall this was a really interesting and great episode that was dedicated a lot to just set things up for the episodes to come.
