Manifest Season 1 Episode 1 "Pilot" Review

When a plane that disappeared five years ago returns, those onboard must piece together their old lives while dealing with mysterious voices in their heads.

This was a really interesting episode that didn't really fix my wariness about this show but it did do a good job of setting up the plot of the show. I am a bit wary of this show because I feel it will focus too much of the people and not of the mystery of what happened to there plane that made it disappear for 5 years, which is the main reason I'd watch the show, for the mystery. Everything around the Stone family was very interesting with Ben dealing with the fact of coming home to a teenage daughter and a wife who has lived five years without him. Grace and Olive dealing with the return of these family members who they thought were dead. And Michaela dealing with her old life being gone and she has to pick up the little pieces she has left to try and build a life from. Then Ben and Michaela hearing there own voices in there heads telling them things over and over again trying to get them to do things was interesting with how these voices lead them to certain events later on in the story. And I really did enjoy how these voices eventually lead to solving the side story case around the two missing girls. Saanvi's whole story in this episode was interesting with her past work being something that connected to the Stone family in the present with her work now being able to help Cal. The ending of this episode was really interesting with how most of the passengers returning to the airport where they landed just to watch the plane explode. And I'm very curious to see how the investigation into the disappearance will go now that the plane is gone so all the investigator have to look into is the passengers. I also really hope that they focus more on some of the other passengers in the future and a little less on the Stone family just to keep things more interesting. Then just overall this was a really great episode and I'm curious to see what will happen next.
