Midnight Texas Season 2 Episode 5 "Drown the Sadness In Chardonnay" Review

Lem makes a shocking decision; Olivia's past comes back to haunt her; Fiji seeks outside help from her fellow Light Witches; A suicide pits Manfred and Kai against one another.

This was a really confusing episode that was entertaining to watch and had some good moments to it. Everything with Lem in this episode was just odd with his decision to stop being a vampire so that he can have a family with Olivia and everything else that he wants. Then everything with Olivia in this episode was just weird with her finally confronting her father and finding out that he is still stuck living in the past to live where he felt happiest. How Olivia got stuck in her fathers trap and how Lem and others got her out of it was a little confusing, rushed, and felt like they were trying to wrap up everything they set up.

Fiji's parts in this episode were great with the truth coming out about her curse and why she is the way she is. That truth is that she is actually a dark witch and not a light one was a great reveal but a little confusing. Because why would that be a secret to her and if her own family didn't know how could they not. I feel the difference between a dark witch and light witch should be easily seen so it is known. Then it was also confusing how Fiji was all the sudden a master at dark magic once she realized she had it.

Then the moments with Manfred and Patients really felt like it should have been its own episode because it also felt a little rushed when trying to compete with the Olivia storyline. I did enjoy Manfred trying to figure out the mystery of why this girl killed her self and figuring out that she was actually murdered by her friend. And how all these things lead back to the idea of no one can escape from Kai was great with how it is becoming known that Manfred and Patients are in a relationship. Then just overall this was a really entertaining episode that was a little hard to follow but it had a nice couple of storyline to it.

Charmed Season 1 Episode 6 "Kappa Spirit" Review

As Maggie attempts to make amends with Lucy, she asks for Mel's help to figure out who the new Kappa member is.

This was a really entertaining episode that was so much fun to watch how everything turned out. Everything with Maggie was the main part of this episode and it was so entertaining but also a little confusing. I enjoyed this vengeful spirit working with Lucy and driving a bigger wedge between Maggie and Lucy. The confusing part came when Maggie was trying to identify which type of ghost this spirit is and she needed this book and all this help the first time around but then later she just switched her mind to a whole different section of ghost and had all this information on how to stop them without any help. Then Mel and Maggie going back in time and encountering there mother when she was pregnant with Macy made a good push forward in the storyline around the mystery of Macy. Then Macy looking more into the mark on Galvin and getting Harry's help on it was fun to see Harry interacting with Macy's friends and trying to figure out what is going on with Galvin. Then just overall this was a really fun episode that was so interesting to watch.

Midnight Texas Season 2 Episode 4 "I Put a Spell on You" Review

The Midnighters join forces to protect a weretiger; Fiji takes extreme measures to save Bobo; Patience and Manfred bond over relationship troubles.

This was an okay episode that had some good moments to it but it did get a little long and confusing at points. The whole story with the baby weretiger and Olivia working to take care of it and truly understanding what it's like to have a normal family did make for an interesting storyline for this episode. But everything else around this baby weretiger was really confusing where the mother to this weretiger was looking for the Rev but it was never explained how she knew the Rev or why he was the one she went to for help. Then the whole weretiger family tree between the mother, grandmother, and father of this baby weretiger made no sense to me because they had it as the father being weretiger but never really explaining what the mother or grandmother was besides being the owners of this fighting ring of supernatural creatures. So then the confusing part to me is, did the mother go against the grandmother's wishes and have a child with this weretiger that she was imprisoning or did the grandmother pushed the mother to have a child with the weretiger. Then everything with Fiji was interesting with her wiping his memory of everything that happened between the two of them but things not working out because the fact of their love and attraction being too strong that no magic can stop it so the ending of her turning him into a dog was interesting to see. Then everything with Manfred and Patience was okay but a little confusing and felt a bit like it was adding more drama than what was necessary. Then just overall this was a really fun episode that had a good storyline to it, it just felt like they were missing pieces to the story.

Midnight Texas Season 2 Episode 2 "The Monster of the Week Is Patriarchy" Review

Manfred investigates a gruesome murder in the hotel; Lem and Olivia's psychic connection drives a wedge between them; Bobo's life is put in danger.

This was a really interesting and entertaining episode that continued to do a good job of getting into the motions of what makes Midnight. Everything with Manfred and the hotel was interesting with him working to figure out what these murderous ghosts want and what he can do to free them. I really loved the moment where Manfred has both of the ghosts inside him explaining their sides of the story of what lead to there deaths and why are they angry. Then everything with Lem and Olivia was interesting with this eager girl wanting to become a vampire and finding a way to make that happen by tricking Lem. Then just the whole hunt down moment with Lem and Olivia was great with how it was all shown and done with Lem having to use the little information he gathered to find where the girl might go next. Then the discovery that Kai can remove supernatural forces from people makes me really curious to see who might choose to be human again and who might fight against Kai because of what he can do. Then the moments with Fiji and Bobo were okay with them slowly discovering that something is going on but it kind of felt unimportant for the grander scheme of what is going on. Then just overall this was a really fun episode and I'm curious to see what will happen next.

Midnight Texas Season 2 Episode 1 "Head Games" Review

A new hotel rocks the Midnighters stability; Manfred deals with the consequences of 'taking-in' six demons.

This was a really great and interesting first episode that had so many great moments and it did a nice job of setting up some events to come. Everything around the new hotel was really interesting with the Midnighters not being sure what to think about the new owners especially when it is revealed that one of the owners Kai has the ability to heal people. Then the whole relationship problems in this episode was a little weird and boring where Olivia and Lamb are dealing with there phycological connection getting in the way of them being there own person and Bobo and Fiji dealing with what to do in their blossoming relationship. Then everything with Manfred in this episode was some of the best moments where he is dealing with these weird blackout sleepwalking moments where it appears like he is planning on killing his friends. The return of Manfred's grandmother was also a nice touch in this episode to have someone on his side helping him out and the eventual truth that she was just a hallucination due to the sickness affecting him was so great. But I do wish that his grandmother would come back somehow because she was really great last season with her commentary that helped out Manfred ever now and again. And the actual thing affecting Manfred was interesting where he had this weird almost darkness cancer that was growing in him as an after effect of taking in all those demons and the cancer is spreading quickly and will soon kill him. Then how that rest of the Midnighters actually figured out what was going on with Manfred and how they managed to find a way to help him was all really well done in how it was shown. Then I'm really curious to see what will happen now that Creek has left because for the most part she was the only real human in the town and that was really entertaining to me. And just overall this was a really great first episode and I'm really excited to see what will happen next.

Midnight Texas Season 1 Episode 10 "The Virgin Sacrifice" Review

With Hell literally about to erupt, Manfred leads the Midnighters to take back their home.

And this was a really entertaining and really fun episode that was kind of a great season finale because it really did a good job of wrapping everything up that happened in the season and sort of left things off on a note that the story could continue on. And I really enjoyed seeing all the moments of them with the priest helping them by blessing the weapons and stuff that they used to so they can go and fight against the wraiths and have at least a tiny bit of a chance to defeat them even for a few seconds. And that was just interesting to see all these different things would like everyone's finally working together and help each other out and all that. Manfred's whole plan that he had on how he would fight this oncoming massive demon was interesting where his decision was to sort of fight a demon he was going to become really strong demon, so he went and found all these really dark possessed items that have the spirits inside them and he asked them to take over himself. Which was interesting to see how that eventually all turned out by the end of this episode and it seemed like for the most part all the demons left him and moved on and he was fine but with how this episode it seems like everything might not be as fine as he thought. The Fiji's whole plan of how she was going to stop the demon was okay where her plan to stop the demon was to do that same thing she did to her first love. But Bobo's whole opinion on Fiji's plan and his idea of what to do was kind of stupid where he was like "Well the demon wants you because you're a virgin, but if you are no longer a virgin..." and I just didn't care much for that. Then the moments with Lam and Olivia were interesting whereas I predicted Olivia got hurt and Lam was given the option of watching her die or turning her, and I'm happy that they found another way that didn't involve either of those options. And the ending of this episode was interesting where everything seemed to be on a happy note until this lady showed up staying she was going to tare down the old hotel to make something more attractive to visitors so I'm curious to see what might happen if an influx of new visitor does come to Midnight. And just overall this was a really interesting and entertaining episode to watch how everything turned out.

Midnight Texas Season 1 Episode 9 "Riders on the Storm" Review

As the veil breaks and an apocalyptic sandstorm engulfs Midnight, the Midnighters rally to protect Fiji from demonic forces.

This was a really interesting and entertaining episode that didn't really have much to it. I really loved how this episode mostly focused on Fiji and told a bit of her backstory and like how she came to Midnight. Which with that her whole story was really great with her aunt teaching her about magic and Fiji finding a guy that she really liked and her magic kind of getting in the way. And then I really enjoyed the scenes with Fiji and Mr. Snuggles and sort of seeing how it is that still a very one-sided relationship and with that I'm still very surprised at how many of the midnighters don't know that fiji's cat talks so that was weird to see all them reacting to that which should have been a more common thing then it apparently is. But still seeing that one side relationship like I said where the cat doesn't love Fiji so that's fun to see him actually wanting to be with his original owner which was Fiji's aunt and Fiji still trying to do everything she can to protect this cat. And then all the group are on this quest to do everything I can to protect Fiji was interesting with them all decide that the best option is for them to actually leave Midnight for a bit and then figure out a safe place to put Fiji and then to figure out a plan before they go back to Midnight. I didn't really care for that but it guess it kind of made sense for the fact that they did not going that far out of the way so that was just a little weird in my mind that didn't really matter the most part. And then the moments with Creek we're okay where Manfred tried to get her to leave Midnight with everyone else who's not a supernatural being but things go wrong so she eventually ends up coming back so I didn't like those moments with her and they kind of seemed pointless but I can be okay with them because it did sort of help move the story along. Then the moments with Lam and Olivia were okay with them still getting over all the relationship troubles that they had in the last episode and I enjoied the one liner that Olivia had to Lam when he said "To take me out in the sun like this you must really hate me," And her reply was "If I hated you I would make you do this naked." That was just so much fun and really great. And I cerious to see where there relationship will go after what Olivia told him once they were safe which was that once all this was over she would leave him. And just overall this was a really entertaining and interesting epiosde to watch everything play out.

Midnight, Texas Season 1 Episode 8 "Last Temptation of Midnight" Review

A faceless supernatural makes a pilgrimage to Midnight to usher in a demon's arrival from the veil to Hell; Olivia and Bobo make plans of their own to protect the town.

This was a really interesting and fun episode that mainly continued setting up a lot of what's going to happen in the season finale probably. And I just really enjoyed watching how this episode played out with how everyone dealt with the fact that Manfred left as well as a lot of the supernatural creatures dealing with their dark sides coming out more. So with that, I really enjoyed watching all the moments between Olivia and Lam and them dealing with the outcomes of their situation and how they don't really agree with each other. And then also having this big evil demon that we've known about the whole season and getting more information on him and it was really cool where I can't remember what his name is but then they also had the side thing that he feeds off of like dead souls or something like that so he constantly needs sacrifices otherwise he loses his power essentially probably. So that was fun to see all the different towns people dealing with that or like the people who are most vulnerable sort of being taken over by this demon to do what he asked them to do. And then the moments with Manfred we're really fun with him dealing with his situation and how he doesn't want to be the hero because he's never been the hero before so his whole conversation with his aunt and dealing with how he can't really escape his future was interesting to see. And then I really loved that moment when Manfred finally decided that he was going to go back to Midnight and be the hero he's supposed to be and the first person who runs into is the main sort of villain he's supposed to stop from causing problems to happen that was just such a fun the sort of coincidence that they threw in there really well. Add just overall this was a really fun and entertaining episode and I'm so curious and excited to see where they're going to go next and last few episodes.

Midnight, Texas Season 1 Episode 7 "Angel Heart" Review

A bounty hunter from Joe's past arrives in Midnight; Creek struggles to recover from her family tragedy; The Rev refuses to compromise the safety of his neighbors.

This was a really interesting episode that did a good job of introducing the story plot further without it seeming dumb. I was a little hard to watch the scenes with Creek in there because it all felt so much like everyone was on egg shells around her it got really annoying to watch her. It was interesting how they decided to end this episode for Creek with her and Manfred breaking up but kind of still living together at least at first. The moment with the Rev was interesting with him getting hurt right at the beginning of the episode but no one goes looking for him until near the very end. Everything with Joe and this other angle was interesting with the truths being reviled of what Chuy is and why he and Joe are doing there best to stay hidden. All of the final fight scenes between the two angles was great but I was a little annoying how they make such a big deal about the plan to send an angle to hell and then chose to not follow through with that plan. I really loved the moment between Olivia and Lam where they discuss there relationship and how one day it will end and how Olivia doesn't want to be a vampire. And just overall this was a really great and entertaining episode and I can't wait to see what might happen next now that it seems like things are really starting to kick off in a bad direction.

Midnight, Texas Season 1 Episode 4 "Sexy Beast" Review

Manfred's ability to see the dead leads him to uncover an ancient supernatural who seduces and feeds on men; Bobo must confront the dangerous bikers who threaten to expose his past.

This was such a fun and really interesting episode that had a lot of really fun moments to it. I did really enjoy that kind of separation at the beginning of this episode between the succubus and Manfred and just having him slowly discover the succubus instead of it being something that is fully suddenly thrown into his life. And just watching all the teamwork that all the main characters did in this episode to work to try and catch the succubus was a lot of fun actually see what they all do working together. And the moments between Bobo and Fiji was interesting to see with them coming to conclusions that they do have interest in each other. Then the moments with Creek and Connor were great with seeing Connor try to protect his older sister and find out the truth about Manfred. Then everything with Olivia and Lem was great with finding a bit more about Olivia's past and how Lem sort of fit into it. And with all the conclusions that came out of the end of this episode and where it left off for everyone, I'm super excited to see what's going to happen next. So overall this was a really great and really entertaining episode to watch.

Midnight, Texas Season 1 Episode 3 "Lemuel, Unchained" Review

A deadly nest of vampires arrives in Midnight, eager to reunite with Lem, Manfred suspects there's more to their arrival and joins forces with Olivia.

This was a really interesting episode that had some great moments but had kind of an odd feeling to it overall. I didn't quite like the idea of having these vampires coming to Midnight because even in the show they talk about how other vampires actively avoid coming to Midnight in fear of Lem but these vampires just walk in like they own the place so that was really weird. Then this episode did feel a bit off with them trying to include all of the main characters in some way and that kind of caused a very jumbled feeling to everything. I did really like how they used the safe havens like the church and Manfred and Fiji's houses as places to hide from the vampires because they all have a spell on them that prevents evil from crossing inside. It was really interesting to see how these vampires operated by having them not just go out and suck random peoples blood but instead have them take from people who volunteer themselves. I did really like how much of a pivotal role Olivia played in this episode in the goals to protect Lem. Then the final sort of battle between the people of Midnight and the vampires was really cool especially seeing what Manfred did to help everyone out. And just overall this was a really entertaining episode that did have a few rough moments around its edges.

Midnight, Texas Season 1 Episode 2 "Bad Moon Rising" Review

Manfred tries to help Bobo clear his name by talking to the murdered victim with Joe's help; Lem and Olivia set out to stop a deadly predator before it kills again.

This was a really interesting episode that was really entertaining to watch and see how the story progressed and where it left off everyone as well as introducing a bit more of each of the characters. And I really enjoyed the scenes with Fiji doing the exorcism on Manfred's house. And all the mess that comes out of that and it is a bit of a side story to the main things which is really fun to have like all the sudden go back to Fiji getting beaten up by ghosts in the house. And then learning a bit more about the preacher and the fact of what supernatural being he is which is like some sort of shape shifter that can really only take on the form of one creature but seeing him sort of have to deal with that and the fact that it was a full moon or something like that that he had to change forms and everyone in town being aware of that and being there to  help him to not kill anyone was just interesting and entertaining to see. And I really just love seeing this whole town work together and that whenever someone had a problem the others would be there to help them out. And I just really love how they had ended with like all these different threats sort of on Midnight Texas and they have both the Supernatural and human threats with the Sons of Lucifer sort of looming over them as well as the supernatural beings that have sort of been let in by Manfred. And overall this was such an entertaining and really fun episode that I'm so curious to see where it's going to go next and what's going to happen in the story.

Midnight, Texas Season 1 Episode 1 "Pilot" Review

A powerful psychic on the run decides to hide out in the small town of Midnight, Texas and discovers the community is a mysterious safe haven for outsiders with secrets - both supernatural and human.

This was a really great first episode that didn't fully cover a lot but it did a great job of introducing a lot of the main characters. It was really interesting to see how each of these main charterers had secrets and reasons of why they came to Midnight and I kind of can't wait to see more of these characters and find out more about them. I find it kind of weird how a lot of the supernatural people say and try and hide who they truly are but are kind of bad at it because of everyone in town kind of knows. having this murder take place along with introducing the characters was kind of weird I think it would have been a lot better if this episode was just dedicated to introductions and ended with the murder for the second episode to pick up on. Instead, this episode just felt like to different stories trying to fit together. The ending was really great with the towns people kind of going to war with the outsiders and watching Fiji crush the police car with her powers was so cool. And just overall there wasn't much to this first episode but it was still really great and I can't wait to see what will happen next.
