Scorpion Season 4 Epiosde 2 "More Extinction" Review

Team Scorpion continues work with their nemesis to prevent humanity's extinction; Cabe's last-minute decision while on the case endangers his career.

This was a really interesting and okay episode that was definitely better than the last episode but it still wasn't the greatest. I really did love all the moments with the team inside of this Russian spa and them dealing with security and trying to sneak around to get all the supplies they need. The moments with Happy, Toby, Sylvester were fun with all the different obstacles they had to jump through to get their supplies. Then it was really weird how the team just kept getting split up and by far this episode seemed to have the team not working together the most out of all the episodes out there. And everyone seemed like such a mess and kind of just talking over each other all the time. I did really like the moments with Happy trying to fly the helicopter to carry the supplies they needed and then there final plan to spot the extinction level event was really great where they used the helicopter to mix together all the chemicals they were shooting up in the air to make it snow. The final moments between Cabe and Mark was really great with all this build up between the two of them leading right to where I thought it would. And the ending for Cabe was alright but not the greatest because they have already done a storyline where Cabe got in trouble for his actions and because Team Scorpion refuses to work with anyone else they let him go. I did however like the ending between Sylvester and Happy where I knew something would come back to Sylvester losing his ring and it was nice because Happy made him a new more permanent ring. And just overall this was an okay episode that wasn't the most exciting thing out there.

The Good Doctor Season 1 Episode 2 "Mount Rushmore" Review

Dr. Shaun Murphy's attention to detail complicates his first day; Dr. Claire Browne learns a valuable lesson about honesty when confronted with a difficult diagnosis for her patient.

This was a really entertaining and interesting episode that was really dedicated to introducing Shaun to the world of surgery and the ER. It was really fun how they had Shaun not realizing that what he was doing was supposed to be really terrible work he just saw it as work that he had to get it done. And it was really interesting how they chose to approach everything with Shawn not wanting to let people go unless he thought that they were fully healthy and he kind of had to go and learn the lesson that you can't prevent every illness for happening you only are supposed to like treat them for right now. And then that was interesting how for the most part that rang true but they did have one person in this episode where Shaun's extra precautious look at everyone actually end up saving her. And it was a little sad and a little disappointing how they had Shaun sort of outcast from the rest of the group because the doctor didn't want him on the team so they decided to sort of sideline him. And then it was disappointing how when Shaun did have a good idea that ends up savings or the main patient one of the other doctors took credit for it. The storyline that followed that moment was also really interesting where the two doctors are talking and one says how taking credit for Shaun's idea is the same as the other doctor taking credit for a successful surgery that she didn't even want to do on the patient. It is also really interesting who is on Shaun's side and who isn't because some are just using Shaun for there own gain and other actually care. Then all the flashback moments were really interesting with seeing more of how Shaun grew up, and the ending flashback scene was sad with Shaun holding on to his dying brother. Then just overall this was a really entertaining episode that did have some great moments to it.

Wisdom of the Crowd Season 1 Episode 1 "Pilot" Review

A tech innovator creates a cutting-edge crowd-sourcing hub to solve his own daughter's murder, as well as revolutionizing crime solving in San Francisco.

This was a really great episode that wasn't the best that it could have been because you could go and watch the trailer for this series and end up getting this whole first episode out of it. But watching the little extra parts that weren't in the trailer were really great because it helped to get to know a lot of the main characters more. I'm very curious to see what they are going to do with the program of Sophie because I feel like the continuing theme through the season will be finding the daughters killer while also having moments in between of other crimes to solve to help improve Sophie's programming. In this episode, the extra case was interesting with how it did connect back to Mia's death but mostly the story was about these girls getting heavily drugged and then abused. And solving that whole case was interesting with how quickly everything seemed to be gathered and they tracked down the right guys. I did really like that they did devote time to the discussion about deciding whether evidence is gathered in the correct ways so that it can actually be used in court. Because if evidence is gathered in a way that is also illegal it can't be used, so the whole Sophie team had to figure out where that line is. The tech billionaire guy was probably my least favorite of all the characters because everyone else seemed really entertaining and interesting and he wasn't, he did have his moments where he did learn to adjust to what everyone else was doing. But everyone else developed as a character in this episode except for him it seemed like. I really enjoyed what they did do with the scene where Sophie got hacked and they instantly come face to face with the hacker and instead of getting rid of him the gave him a job, that was just really fun in my mind. Overall there wasn't a lot to this episode because it was mostly just introducing characters but still it was a great and really entertaining episode.

Star Trek: Discovery Season 1 Episode 3 "Context is for Kings" Review

Burnham finds herself aboard the U.S.S. Discovery, where she quickly realizes things are not as they seem, including the mysterious Captain Gabriel Lorca.

This was a really interesting and really great episode that did a good job of bringing everybody aboard the Discovery and really establishing who the main characters are. And I really enjoyed each of the new main people that we meet, where the captain is a big mystery, the head scientist who Michael works under is very angry and aggressive, and Micheal's roommate is very happy and shy, so all them mixed together with Michael was really interesting. And I liked that they had Micheal sort of starting from the bottom of ranks and she doesn't want to be there and she doesn't know why she is there, but she just goes along and uses her intelligence to help fix the problems she comes across. And it was really interesting to see how she figured out some of the secrets that people are hiding from her because no one really trusts her. And it was really cool how they sort of started talking about the creation of warp technology, because I was a little afraid of what they might do because this whole series takes place 10 years before the Enterprise so a lot of the technology that the Enterprise had didn't exist much when the Discovery was around so I was worried what they were going to do and if they were just going to ignore everything and do what they want. But with them talking about the creation of warp technology it shows they are trying to give some effort to stay correct to the timeline of things. Then I loved the scene where Micheal goes on this side mission with some of the other characters and while she is leading the monster away while everyone else escapes Micheal is quoting Alice in Wonderland. And as a big fan of the Alice in Wonderland story that was just so great the lines she was quoting fitting perfectly to the situation she was in, I just loved it so much. And then the ending made it better where Micheal pulls out of her bag an actual book and it is Alice in Wonderland. I have to say that this was a really interesting episode because despite this being the third episode it really felt like a pilot episode where the first two episodes could have easily been told in a back story but instead they decided to show everything. And just overall this was a really great first sort of episode and I'm so excited to see where they will go from here.

Inhumans Season 1 Episode 1 "Behold... The Inhumans" Review

Tensions arise between the members of the Attillan royal family.

This was a really entertaining and interesting episode that I knew going int this episode there wasn't going to be a lot to it because the Inhumans are a very complicated storyline to understand, so I knew going in this at least the first few episodes would just be dedicated to introducing everything. I did enjoy how they chose to show off a bit of each of the members of the royal family, but it was a little disappointing that all the focus seemed to mostly be on Balck bolt, Medusa, and Maximus. So that was a little disappointing that they all didn't get a spot in the light especially Crystal because in my opinion out of all them she is one of the most powerful because she can control all four elements, and yes they did show off her using a bit of ice and had her charging up her fire but overall she really didn't use her powers it was just small things. Then I liked that they did do a bit of explaining for the Terrigenesis side of things even though they did it a bit different then what Agents of SHIELD have done for the Terrigenesis. Because in SHIELD when going through Terrigenesis you get locked up in this rock shell for a while and then hatch, while here you get covered by the mist for a bit and then instantly have your powers. So it was a bit different but maybe that could be because the inhumans understand it a bit more so maybe they evolved the whole prosses a bit more. And yes I can understand some peoples disagreements with this whole series because it is not the best show out there and for putting it on the theater screen it just isn't a show that would transfer over like that very well. Then it was interesting how they decided to do the whole relationship between Maximus and Medusa because they did show that there was something there but it kind of wasn't the best because it left Maximus seeming really creepy and it was disappointing because they kind of made it like that was his only personality trait and there is so much more to the character than being a creep. Then the ending of this episode was really kind of weird and rushed because it was dedicated to getting most of the royal family off of Attillan and onto earth, and just who they chose to send away when was just weird. And it felt rushed because to start it all Maximus was kind of like I'll just take over now for no reason. And it was weird how Maximus apparently had people working for him down on earth when earlier it seemed like he knew nothing about earth. But I can kind of understand all of it from it being a midpoint because in the theater this episode was shown alongside the second episode so this ending was just the middle of the whole two-hour thing. Then the part with Medusa at the end was interesting and great if they do use it right in the next episode where there is a thing to her powers where she can still control her hair for a short time after it had been cut, so maybe she can still control her hair from earth. And just overall this was a really entertaining first episode and I'm curious to see where they will go from here.

The Orville Season 1 Episode 4 "If the Stars Should Appear" Review

The crew encounters a vessel adrift in space that's about to collide with a star.

This was a really entertaining and interesting episode that took the ideas of a first encounter situation and did it in their own ways. It was really cool because the characters had to go out on board this ship and talk to a bunch of people who don’t realize they're on a ship and that there is a whole universe outside of the little home that they know. It was really interesting how they chose to approach the situation, in my opinion, they could have done it a bit better because all they did was show up and be like “hi, you're on a spaceship.” So it could have gone better to where they learned about the people more and talked to them in ways they understood. Then the scene with Alara and Kelly were interesting because they go a very different kind of welcome compared to the rest of the group, where Alara got shot and Kelly got kidnapped and tortured because the townspeople didn’t understand who they were. Then it was really weird how it was addressed at the very end that oh hey these people on this ship have never seen night or the stars. I feel it would have worked a lot better if they would have addressed that night never came earlier in the episode and then at the end have Mercer be like let's show them a little night or something like that. Then I loved how they randomly had Liam Neeson show up as the captain of the ship and because of time he has changed to become this god-like man among his people. Then the other part that kind of bugged me was the beginning of this episode with Bortus and Klyden where it showed off that they are having some marital issues and then it was never addressed again throughout the whole episode. Yes, I know it will be addressed in later episodes but still, it felt weird to be included in this episode. But overall this was a really great and entertaining episode that had a nice storyline to it.

Gotham Season 4 Episode 2 "The Fear Reaper" Review

Gordon is forced to face his inner demons when he tries to bring in Jonathan Crane to prove that the GCPD is still powerful.

This was a really great and entertaining episode that did do a good job at furthering the Scarecrow story that they are telling and adding a whole bunch of new stuff. And I was a little disappointed that they didn't clear up the one part I had questions on earlier which did the fear gas wear off or is there some kind of cure because right away in this episode they showed Penguin and he seemed fine like it wore off. But then later when Gordon gets hit by the gas they make it seem like the only way for him to get over his fear is is to conquer it, and when that happens Crane seemed really surprised like he didn't know there was a cure in general. And then Gordon discovered that just getting the gas off of the peoples faces cured them, and Gordon was surprised by that so that must have not been known. So just all the parts surrounding how to get over the fear gas were really confusing and hard to follow. I loved the scene where Gordon was going into the asylum alone and the way all the shots were constructed made it look like a haunted house kind of thing where you didn't know when someone might pop out. Then the relationship between Gordon and the GCPD was really interesting because most of the department isn't on Gordon's side and he is struggling to keep them believing in themselves and Gordon can't seem to find the right words to give them hope. Then the side stories with Silena, Tabatha, and Barbra where really kind of interesting with them teaming up to create a business that would kind of undermine Penguin, and I really loved it because it had an almost Sirens like feel to it. Then the parts with Ivy were amazing with them furthering her Poison Ivy story farther where she is sick of being the background character so she found a bunch of stuff to make her stronger. And I think it would be really cool if they do have this stuff become the serium that make it so no one can touch her. Then the parts with Bruce were alright because it did further his story more down the road towards becoming the dark knight, but I didn't care for it as much because he is so arrogent. The way he is acting and talking it is like he thinks nothing and hurt him and that is a hero that I have a hard time getting behind. But still I have to say this was a really entertaining and interesting episode and I can't wait to see what they will do with Scarecrow next.
