The Flash Season 2 Episode 11 "The Reverse-Flash Returns" Review

Dr. Harrison figures out how to induce Cisco's ability. They hence learn that Eobard Thawne is still alive. Iris is saying farewell to her mother. Patty realizes there's more to Barry than meets the eye.

This was a really great episode to take away and bring back some characters. The whole episode revolves around Thawne coming back but in his timeline, it is all before he does the things in the past seasons like kill Barry's mother. Then on the other side, it is about Patty officially leaving Central City. Which that whole part was really sad because it seems so much like she doesn't want to leave and it really is all up to Barry to decide if she leaves or not and he really is just pushing her away. Which does seem a bit out of character for Patty because in the episode before she seemed so determined to leave and then in this episode it just seems like she never really wanted to but everyone is just driving her away. I really loved that we got to see more of Cisco using his quake powers and some of the repercussions because of that and all the time travel that was going on. It was really interesting how they chose to explain how Thawne is still around is because his universe still exists in a pocket universe that hasn't completely gone away yet. And Dr.Wells did a good job of sticking to the rules of time travel and making sure that Barry never shows Thawne his face and let him hear his name because of the problems that could cause. Then also having this episode show some of the problems with time travel with having someone almost disappear from existence. Then the ending of this episode was a really cute way for Barry and Patty to say goodbye which was something they were kind of avoiding doing throughout the episode. So overall this was a really great and fun episode.
